Ellen Morris Bishop, Ph.D, is a professionally-trained geologist, author, photographer, and “yarn-spinner.” Her books include “In Search of Ancient Oregon: A Geological and Natural History” and “Living with Thunder: Exploring the Geologic Past, Present, and Future of the Pacific Northwest.” On the lighter side, she has also written “Best Hikes with Dogs Oregon” and “Hiking Oregon’s Geology.”
She will be joining us in-person, so bring your copies of her books so she can sign them! She will speak on some of the fossil-bearing volcanic tufts related to Yellowstone (Succor Creek is one of them….) and include more info about Miocene and earlier ecosystems.
Everyone is welcome to join us! Membership is NOT required! Before the talk, we will have show-and-tell by members and guests. Please bring fossils for identification and discussion.
For a link to the meeting via Zoom, send a Message a day or so before the meeting. We have had problems with Zoom-bombing, so we don’t post the invite publicly anymore. If you are a NARG member, check your email Inbox for an invite.
